[1I12] Study on reconstruction methods of temperature tomography by analyzing inelastic scattering of neutron transmission spectra
Keywords:Pulsed neutron transmission spectroscopy, Neutron total cross-section, Inelastic scattering analysis, Temperature, Tomography
Temperature measurements using neutrons are expected to obtain internal temperature information in non-destruction and non-contact. A previous study using pulsed neutron transmission spectroscopy proposed a method using inelastic scattering component analysis in neutron total cross-section. However, CT is necessary to visualize tomographic temperature distribution. Two types of CT processes have been proposed. First is performing CT with wavelength-dependent absorbance at each wavelength, and obtaining material information at each position from the reconstructed cross-sections. Second is deriving the wavelength-dependent total cross-section averaged over the neutron transmission path, and reconstructing the material information by using projection data of averaged material information derived from the cross-section. We evaluated their applicability to temperature tomography in the proposed method, and the accuracy and precision.
