[1I14] Investigation of setting values to improve accuracy in quantitative evaluation from PIXE spectra using GUPIX analysis

Keywords:TCU-Tandem Accelerator, PIXE analysis, spectrum analysis software GUPIX

The TCU-Tandem accelerator is used primarily for Particle-Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE), and the spectral analysis software GUPIX is employed to calculate the quantitative values. GUPIX is widely used worldwide, but requires the use of standards with known concentration values and a variety of settings to suit the experimental system, and great care must be taken in establishing the settings. The uncertainty of the proton energy produced by the accelerator from the particle-induced γ-ray emission (PIGE) of charged particles was also examined and found to have an uncertainty of about 100 keV. This uncertainty reveals that the uncertainty of the GUPIX quantitative value increases as the atomic number increases. In the future, we plan to establish the setting in GUPIX.
