In order to effectively utilize gymnasiums in the event of a nuclear disaster, it is necessary to have knowledge not only of their capacity but also of their shielding effect against radiation. However, specific knowledge on the shielding effect of gymnasiums has been scarce. In this study, a building model was developed based on the structure of existing gymnasiums, etc., and dose reduction factors for cloud shine and ground shine were evaluated for each energy.
