[2H10] Study of two-dimensional heat transfer analysis model of HTTR vessel cooling system

[Purpose] HTGRs are cooled by vessel cooling system in the accident. Development of a numerical analysis model is required from the viewpoint of soundness evaluation of pressure vessels. In the previous research, the research was conducted under the condition that the inside of the pressure vessel was in a vacuum, but in this research, the research is conducted under the condition that the inside of the pressure vessel is filled with helium, which is closer to the actual conditions.
[Method] Numerical analysis was performed with a model created using ANSYS FLUENT as analysis software, referring to experimental data of a 1/6 scale model conducted by JAEA.
[Conclusion] As a whole, the experimental data of the 1/6 scale model are closer to the experimental data than the previous research conducted under the condition of helium inside the pressure vessel. However, the accuracy of the temperature distribution near the bottom of the pressure vessel is still poor. Overall, the accuracy is still inadequate compared to vacuum conditions.
