The nuclear industry is currently at a turning point, but in the future it will have to stand on its own as one of the 'normal' industries. To achieve this, it is necessary to 'increase efficiency' as an industry. We have been involved in several so-called nuclear venture companies in Japan, for example in our capacity as management consultants, and have seen several examples of failure. We will explore the lessons learned and suggest what should be considered when actually trying to set up a nuclear venture company in Japan.
