[2I07] Study on imaging performance for hybrid transparent semiconductor using TlBr

Thallium bromide (TlBr) is a semiconductor material and also a good Cerenkov radiator. the combination of charge induction readout and prompt Cherenkov photon production in semiconductor materials can lead to an outstanding detector performance in energy, timing, and spatial resolution. but Tl-based materials have high refractive index (from 2.3 to 2.6), it can get a high Cherenkov photon generation yield. meanwhile it can also potentially affect the time performance. In our work,the timing properties of TlBr crystals are measured using an optimized test setup with high-frequency readout electronics called ADC(analog to digital converter). A good coincidence time resolution (CTR) value and energy resolution is achieved using a 3 × 3 × 3 mm3 TlBr crystal. TlBr detectors excel in detection efficiency, energy resolution, and time resolution, and therefore their application to medical and industrial inspection devices is expected.
