Since the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, the upper operating temperature requirements for electronic equipment used in containment vessels have been raised in Japan. For example, even the relatively less demanding containment atmosphere monitoring system (CAMS) is required to operate at 300℃ (for 72 hours). To develop radiation-resistant electronic devices such as preamplifiers that can operate at 500℃, passive devices (resistors and capacitors) that can operate at high temperatures were developed and evaluated in this study. This time, metal resistors and ceramic capacitors were actually fabricated. The operation of the resistors and capacitors were evaluated in an inert gas environment at high temperatures (~500℃), and both resistors and capacitors succeeded in stable operation at 500℃.
