[2K_PL03] Current status of R&D for the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station by the JAEA
The decommissioning of Fukushima Dai-ichi NPP is a difficult undertaking, and the government, TEPCO, research institutes, and others are working together to make steady progress. In this session, TEPCO and research institutes will report their current efforts.
IRID will report the current status of technology development related to the extraction of molten, cooled and solidified fuel debris, which is the biggest challenge. TEPCO will report the current status and future issues of measures for decommissioning, contaminated water, and treated water. JAEA will report the results of R&D on fuel debris, radioactive waste treatment/disposal, and telemetry.
