[2L03] Corrosion effect of hydrogen isotope permeation behavior and compatibility between functional ceramics coating and solid tritium breeder
Keywords:coating, blanket, solid tritium breeder, corrosion
In a fusion reactor blanket system, functional coatings have been developed to reduce tritium permeation and corrosion by tritium breeders. Ceramic coatings have been shown high hydrogen isotope permeation reduction performance, while there is a limited number of studies to investigate the corrosion effect on the hydrogen permeation behavior of the coating. In this presentation, the corrosion effects of solid breeder pebbles on hydrogen isotope permeation behavior of the functional coatings are reported through deuterium permeation tests with the solid breeder consisting of lithium metatitanate and lithium zirconate. The solid breeder was contacting the ZrO2 coatings on a reduced activation ferritic/martensitic steel plate to simulate the circumstance of the fusion reactor.
