[2M12] Characterization of signals output from a proton-recoil proportional counter placed in UTR-KINKI

Neutron signals at five power levels from 1mW to 100mW by a proton-recoil proportional counter installed at the north stringer in UTR-KINKI were measured. In the experiment, pulse height and rise time distribution of the neutron signals by a MCA & MCS using a time-stamping function were measured. As a result, a peak signal at 1.5µs in the rise time distribution by gamma rays and the other peak at 2.2µs by neutrons were obtained. In the presentation, a comparison between the present results and ex-core experimental result reported in previous conference will be shown.
