[2O03] Evaluation of flammable gasses generated by organic materials in nuclear primary containment vessel (Part 2)
Keywords:Flammable gas, Cable, Paint, Heat insulating material, Steam
There is possibility in the existence of flammable gasses contributes to the explosion of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station Unit 3 accident. Therefore, in this study, organic materials which exist in the nuclear primary containment vessel like cables, paints, heat insulators, and lubricant oil were heated under steam, hydrogen, or oxygen gas. As a result, several kinds of flammable organic gasses in addition to carbon dioxide were generated when heated up to 1,000 degrees Celsius, and it was revealed that flammable gasses were more generated under the steam than hydrogen or oxygen gasses.
