[3H12] Countermeasures against fire false alarms in JAEA

In this presentation, results of the operational condition survey of JAEA’s fire alarms will be presented in order to reduce the actual occurrence of false alarms. This investigation collected number of detectors installed and their ages, the occurrence of false alarms and their causes for three years (2018-2020). As a result of this investigation, it was found that more than 70% of the 34,400 fire alarm detectors in JAEA have been used for more than 20 years. And 65 false alarms have been reported for three years. Furthermore, 60% of the false alarm detectors were found to be used in areas requiring environment improvement.
