Keywords:Quantum computer, Transport calculation, Monte Carlo method

Radiation transport calculations using the Monte Carlo method can solve complex problems with great precision, but they require an enormous number of history to obtain sufficient accuracy, depending on the scale of the problem and/or the treatment of small reactions. Thus, various methods are used to improve the efficiency of calculations, such as variance reduction methods and parallel calculations. Quantum computers are expected to have excellent computational performance and radiation transport calculations could be accelerated by taking advantage of their features that enable massively parallel computations. We will show the features expected in radiation transport calculations using quantum computers.
