[3J_PL03] Public Opinion Regarding the Discharge of ALPS-Treated Water into the Sea
This planning session is co-hosted by the Fukushima Support Project and the Health Physics and Environmental Science Division, and is designed as a platform for members to share information about the ALPS (Advanced Liquid Processing System) treated water, which is scheduled for ocean release this summer. We will have explanations from representatives of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy and the Ministry of the Environment regarding the decision-making process for the ocean release of ALPS treated water, the current situation, future plans, and environmental monitoring. Also, based on the results of public opinion polls from the Fukushima Support Project, we will share about public awareness and concerns, and establish this as one venue for guiding the response of academic societies in sharing information to address discussions and concerns both domestically and internationally.
