[3N06] Improvement of the Fabrication Method of Lithium Target of Neutron Source for Nuclear Data Measurement

The ⁷Li(p,n)⁷Be reaction has been widely used for neutron nuclear data measurement as a neutron generation reaction. In the present work, the fabrication method of the lithium target used in the ⁷Li(p,n)⁷Be neutron source was improved and experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of the new method. Neutron yields and neutron energy spectra were measured. It was demonstrated that the improvement of the lithium target fabrication method leads to an increase in the neutron yield.
