[1G12] Development of Clearance Measurement Method by Plastic Scintillation Fiber
Keywords:Decommissioning, Clearance Measurement, Plastic Scintillation Fiber Detector
It is estimated that a large amount of metal clearance objects will be generated during the decommissioning of a nuclear power plant. To proceed decommissioning smoothly, it is necessary to measure those clearance objects at high throughput. Preprocessing such as cutting the clearance object is considered as one of the obstacles to high throughput. To reduce this preprocessing, development of clearance measurement technique using a long plastic scintillation fiber (PSF) detector was started. This time, a test device using a PSF detector was fabricated, and some measurement tests were conducted for simulated clearance objects. As a result, the prospect of measuring radioactivity below the clearance level of Co-60 was obtained.
