[1G15] Study on the identification of R&D tasks necessary for the establishment of non-destructive inspection technique using terahertz waves
Keywords:Terahertz wave, Sub-terahertz wave, Accident-damaged Reactor, Reinforced Concrete Structure, Long-term soundness Evaluation, Degradation, Non-destructive inspection
An evaluation method necessary to obtain a perspective on the long-term structural soundness of accident-damaged reactor buildings, where accessibility to work sites is extremely limited due to high radiation dose rate and contamination, has been studied as one of the Nuclear Energy Science & Technology and Human Resource Development Project conducted by JAEA/CLADS for three years since FY2021. Concerning this research project, the authors are engaged in developing a non-destructive inspection technology using terahertz waves applicable to the accident-damaged reactor building like Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. The study status is reported to identify and sort out the R&D tasks for establishing the technology applying PIRT method which has been used for validation of analysis codes in nuclear technology fields.
