[1H11] Effect of Chemical Interaction of Carboxylic Acids on Cs(I) Adsorption Behavior onto Soil Minerals

We studied adsorption behavior of Cs(I) onto soil minerals (vermiculite, montmorillonite) in the presence of various carboxylic acids potentially secreted from plants . As a result, the adsorption of Cs(I) was suppressed by addition of carboxylic acid. 133Cs NMR study provided information about chemical interaction of the carboxylic acids with Cs(I) in the aqueous solutions. Its effect on the adsorption behavior will be discussed.
