We studied adsorption behavior of Cs(I) onto soil minerals (vermiculite, montmorillonite) in the presence of various carboxylic acids potentially secreted from plants . As a result, the adsorption of Cs(I) was suppressed by addition of carboxylic acid. ¹³³Cs NMR study provided information about chemical interaction of the carboxylic acids with Cs(I) in the aqueous solutions. Its effect on the adsorption behavior will be discussed.
