To better understand the self-leveling behavior of a conical debris bed formed during the server accident of Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor (SFR), our in-house code FELMI has been applied, where the Discrete Element Method (DEM), coarse-grained DEM, the Volume of Fluid (VOF) and the Refined Grid model are employed. Through this study, it is shown that the FELMI can simulate the self-leveling process under different conditions reasonably. The present research expands our knowledge of the self-leveling process of a debris bed consists of small particles and contributes to the safety analysis of the SFR.
