A safety design optimization support tool for various nuclear reactors, named ARKADIA-Safety, is being developed by Japan Atomic Energy Agency. This report presents an example of an evaluation scheme for optimizing containment vessel design against internal hazard (i.e., sodium combustion), including CV volume and selection of related safety measures from the viewpoint of safety and economy.
