[2B07] A study of sampling methods to evaluate Cs-137 suspended particles in a river
Keywords:TEPCO fukushima daiichi nuclear disaster, Radioactive cesium, River, Suspended particle
As a method to observe Cs-137 in a suspended particle flowing down a river, a method exists to install a suspended sediment sampler in a river and to analyze a suspended particle sampled inside the sampler. It is thought that a suspended sediment sampler can gather an average suspended particle sample of the river water, but there are few examples which confirmed whether a gathered sample is actually an average thing. In this study, we sampled a suspended particle by a suspended sediment sampler in Abukuma River, and collected river water during the setting period of the sampler. We considered from comparison of the Cs-137 concentration of suspended particle, from the suspended sediment sampler and from water samples.
