When the nuclear emergency occurs, measurers take a part of the contamination inspection of vehicles what evacuated inhabitants by using a surface contamination meter. Consequently, a large number of vehicle will come to the inspection area and make there congested. Therefore, it is being studied that quick contamination measurement utilizing the portable radiation portal monitor for vehicles. To do the quick measurement, simultaneous measurement of tires and wipers is a key point. In this study, by measuring the gamma-rays from radiation sources attached to a tire and wipers with the detectors of the monitor, it was attempted that the count rates obtained from tires and wipers are discriminated. In this presentation, the discrimination method during development will be presented.
