The Pelletron Tandem Accelerator at Tokyo City University is used primarily for Particle Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE). At present, GUPIX spectral analysis software is employed to calculate quantitative values from PIXE spectra. However, it is difficult to accurately calculate quantitative values when there is uncertainty in the proton energy. This is because the uncertainty of the proton beam in a PIXE analysis affects the ionization cross section, which directly affects the uncertainty in the amount of X-ray production generated. As a result, the PIGE analysis of the 27Al(p,p'γ)27Al nuclear reaction reveals an uncertainty of about 100 keV. The purpose of this study is to investigate how much the uncertainty of this proton energy affects the quantitative value, utilizing various samples.
