[2G05] The effects of hydrogen addition on the corrosive conditions of PWR primary coolant under irradiation
(8) Evaluation of the effects of OH+H2<=>H+H2O reaction and its back reaction on water radiolysis
Keywords:PWR, Water radiolysis, Radiolysis analysis, ECP analysis, Hydroxyl radical
In JAEA, an analytical method has been developed to estimate the electrochemical corrosion potential (ECP) in BWR and PWR primary coolants, and the effects of rate constants of chemical reactions in water radiolysis at the reactor core region on analysis results are investigated. Some rate constants affect the generation behavior of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) from water radiolysis. Especially, the chemical reaction of hydroxyl radical and molecular hydrogen and its back reactions are important because they are the main reactions of water recombination. In our last presentation, the effect of the rate constant of this back reaction had been investigated. In this study, effects of the other rate constants, such as the rate constant of this forward reaction, are discussed.
