*Toshiya Takaki1, Michio Murase1, Masaki Yamashita2, Ryo Kurimoto2, Kosuke Hayashi2, Akio Tomiyama2 (1. INSS, 2. Kobe Univ.)

Keywords:Vertical pipe, Countercurrent flow limitation, Void fraction, Wall friction factor, Interfacial friction factor, Liquid viscosity

The countercurrent flow limitation (CCFL), pressure gradient dP/dz, and void fraction αG, by air and highly viscous liquid, were measured using a 40 mm diameter vertical pipe with rounded edges at the top and bottom ends, the wall friction factor fw and interface friction factor fi were obtained from the data, and they were compared with the existing correlations. The CCFL correlation taking into account the liquid viscosity was developed for a vertical pipe with rounded edges at the top and bottom ends.
