[3D12] Study of proton distribution in the backing material of accelerator neutron source solid target by ERDA analytical techniques

In this study, the authors aim to develop practical solid targets for compact accelerator neutron sources, discuss the proton distribution in the backing material after proton injection, and accumulate basic data for the design of the backing material. H- ion injection was performed by the cold cathode Penning Ionization Gauge (PIG) negative ion source of the Atomic Energy Research Laboratory of Tokyo City University. The hydrogen content in the samples is analyzed using the ERDA of the RIKEN pelletron accelerator and compared the experimental results with the SIMNRA code simulation results
