[3F01] Evaluation of Electron Beam Irradiation Behavior for Polyethylene

Regarding the High Integrity Container, HIC, used as a multi-nuclide removal equipment in Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, the long term durability is needed because it stores concentrated slurry. Since HIC is consited of cross-linked polyethylene (PE), there is a concern about degradation due to irradiation from the contained racioactive material. In this study, electron beam irradiation of PE has been investigated by tensile test, electron microscopy, and FT-IR analysis.
