In the radioactive waste disposal, bentonite-soil mixture is planned to be used as an artificial barrier material. Bentonite-soil mixture can exhibit low permeability by properly managing the composition of bentonite and soil, initial water content, and compaction density. In the compaction tests conducted, the performance has been confirmed by sampling from the compacted soil. However, this involves the destruction of the rolled soil and provides only point information, which is ideally avoided in actual construction. On the other hand, a non-destructive and area-wide compaction management method using the acceleration response of the vibratory roller has been developed in general banking, and it is evolving by ICT technology. Therefore, this compaction management method for banking was applied to bentonite-soil mixture.
