[1A12] Processing of concrete surface removal by high power density and rapid CW laser irradiation

Around 1995, TAISEI CORPORATION developed laser decontamination technology and conducted demonstration test at the JRTF. Since then, fiber lasers have advanced rapidly, our company has been involved in the laser decontamination of the contaminated water tanks at Fukushima-1. During this period, research results on laser concrete processing have been reported continuously. In this study, we conducted a removal test of concrete surfaces by 2.0kW fiber laser of high-power density CW irradiation for the purpose of developing laser concrete decontamination technique based on latest technologies. We found the laser parameters and processing method that can suppress the surface vitrification and have good removal efficiency by irradiating at high power density and low energy density and considered the principle of laser processing.
