[1H04] Basic Study of Radiation Transport Calculations Using Quantum Computers
(2) Scale Estimation Required for Transport Calculations Using Quantum Amplitude Estimation
Keywords:Quantum computer, Transport calculation, Monte Carlo method, Quantum amplitude estimation
It is known that the computational complexity of the Monte Carlo method can be reduced to the order of the square root by using quantum amplitude estimation, which is a type of algorithm for quantum computers. Therefore, it is expected that radiation transport calculations using the Monte Carlo method can be accelerated. However, a quantum computer with appropriate scale is required to realize this. Based on the quantum circuit of a simple transport calculation model, this study estimates the required scale of a quantum computer for practical-level transport calculations.
