[2G03] Adhesion of α-Al2O3 layer formed on ODS FeCrAl alloys after exposure to liquid metals

FeCrAl alloys (APMT, NF12 and SP10) specimens after the pre-oxidation treatments at 1273 K to form protective α-Al2O3 layers were immersed in liquid LiPb and Sn. The layer adhesion before and after the exposure to liquid LiPb at static and mixing flow conditions at 873 K for 1000 hours was evaluated by micro-scratch tests. The layer adhesion after the exposure to liquid LiPb was slightly degraded due to the penetration of Li into the layer. The layer adhesion was also investigated after the exposure to liquid Sn in a thermal convection loop at 618~673 K for 1000 hours. The corrosion impact on the layer was negligible, and the layer adhesion was not degraded.
