Sintered pebbles of lithium metatitanate doped with excess lithium (Li2+xTiO3) is a candidate material for tritium breeder for fusion reactors. Thermal annealing of the sintered pebbles in an environment simulating actual use elucidated the properties of lithium vaporization and mechanical strength.
