JAEA has been developing the innovative core design optimization process as part of the design optimization support tool, ARKADIA-Design. In this process, the integrated analysis of neutronics, thermal-hydraulics, fuel integrity, and plant dynamics is conducted, then optimal design parameters are automatically explored by an optimization algorithm. In this study, the representative problem, which aimed at preventing core damage and high core performance, was set, and the applicability of the process was confirmed by solving the optimization problem using automatically integrated analysis with neutronics and plant dynamics in the analysis geometry intended for use in the actual core design.
