A microwave heating method is proposed as a rapid method for measuring tritium in water in fish. Using this method, more than 30 types of fish and shellfish and more than 100 samples were measured from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant's oceanic release that started on August 24 until today. As a result, no significant tritium was detected by the measurements. Therefore, it was confirmed that the oceanic release has been carried out without any problem and that fish and shellfish from Fukushima are safe. In this report, details of the analytical method are presented.
