In an Accelerator driven system (ADS), coolant is sprayed directly from a nozzle onto the beam window, which becomes hot due to the passage of the proton beam, to cool it down, but this is expected to induce vibrations in the beam window. In this study, we performed an impact jet experiment on the model of beam window to clarify the effect of the difference in stiffness of the beam window on the vibration characteristics. The velocity of the ambient flow and jet, and the stiffness of the beam window were varied, and acceleration and displacement measurements were made by image processing. The results showed that the beam window vibration consisted of low-frequency and high-frequency bands, with the low-frequency band near the natural frequency being dominant. It was also found that the frequency and amplitude of the low-frequency band increased with increasing jet velocity.
