This study focuses on the suburban housing estates in municipalities aiming for an intensive urban structure. This study aims to understand the actual living environment and to clarify Settlement Consciousness to obtain suggestions for measures to ensure that residents will continue to live there in the future. The target site is Takaoｰdai area of Hachioji City, where Location Normalization Plan (draft) indicates that the town will be maintained in its current state. For that purpose, we analyzed statistics and the resident's consideration survey and conducted interview surveys. As a result, it was suggested that even in the housing estate that is not very convenient and not expected improvement in the living environment in urban planning, residents feel comfortable living if there is a good relationship with others and enough green environment.
