[5] A study about planning sustainable residential area focused on way of choosing residence and using residential site by young generation in junior high school district

In this study, we considered way of attracting residence to the old central area becoming perforation to narrow frontage sites in Takaoka city. As a result, there are two types of young generation to choose residential location, one is moving from out of junior high school district, and the other is moving or succeeding within the district. The rate of these types in each town differs with developing period of residential area. Especially, in the old central area, we clarified the tendency about the succession to residence thorough arranging several sites for the purpose of living together or near with relatives. Arranging several sites with vacant space takes on role that make new choice about lifestyle and land use, and help handing over residence to next generation. For promoting sustainable residential area, it is hoped to attract young generation from out of junior high school district with utilizing this tendency.
