Japan experienced rapid progress in the declining birthrate and aging population, and unprecedented population decline for the first time after the world war Ⅱ. And, the deterioration of the dwelling environment with the increase in vacant homes has attracted attention as an urban issue. In this paper, the target is especially for high density areas where vacant houses and low unused land. we analyzed the changes in dwelling environment related to introduction of land readjustment project. It was found that the improvement of public facilities had an impact on disaster prevention and landscape. From this, it is considered that the effectiveness of the land readjustment project in dense urban areas was shown.
