[158] Neighborhood Analysis Based on “Place Values” Estimated by Subjective Evaluation of Landscape Values
Case Study of Fujimidai Neighborhood in Kunitachi City, Tokyo
Keywords:landscape value, place value, place-based planning
This study aims to develop a new method to analyze the quality of neighborhood based on the distribution and intensity of "place values" estimated for individual locations within the neighborhood from the results of subjective evaluations of landscape values on city images. Through the analysis of the questionnaire survey results and the application of semantic segmentation, functions were created to estimate the extent of each of various landscape values that people may perceive from the composition of landscape elements in the images. This marked the first step in realizing “Place-based Planning”, a planning theory that focuses on people’s psychological relationship against places, by revealing that the accuracy of estimation of people’s evaluation of various landscape values was found almost proportional to the coefficient of determination of the regression model based on the composition of landscape elements.
