In recent years, In Green infrastructure (GI) technology has been studied as a new flood control measure. This technology utilizes the rainwater infiltration function of the natural environment to prevent the damage caused by floods. However, much is not known about where and how much GI should be placed for it to be effective. Therefore, to effectively utilize the functions of GI, it is necessary to study its effective implementation based on quantitative evidence. Therefore, this study clarifies the effective placement and the quantity of GI in the central area of Kure City in Hiroshima Prefecture. After analyzing the results, it was found that 30% of GI introduction in the northern and the eastern areas of Kure City Hall and Renga Street, would reduce flood damage. These areas were particularly damaged during the heavy rain event of July 2018.
