focusing on different payment schemes

This paper analyzes the efficiency of a MaaS system with capacity constraints, focusing on different payment schemes. In a capacitated network, the subscription MaaS is considered to bias demand because users are determined on a first-come-first-serve(FCFS) basis. In contrast, the route reservation MaaS can solve this problem by giving permits of mobility use before users start their trips and moreover can improve its efficiency with dynamic pricing. In this study, as a new framework for analyzing efficiency of these different payment schemes, we proposed a simulation for each type of MaaS based on a recursive logit model in a multimodal time-space network. The case study showed that the subscription MaaS with capacity constraints was inefficient and biased user satisfaction, compared to the route reservation MaaS.
