In this research, the characteristics of the Transport Impact Assessment systems associated with large-scale development in Japan and Korea are compared, and the advantages and problems of each are considered. The Korean system, which is operated based on the law, has several advanced features, such as the scheme for collecting latest traffic volume data and operation of the national transport database, the estimation method for traffic volume induced by several types of building, and the cost burden scheme according to the degree of traffic impact by development. These features may serve as useful references for the Japanese System. And we were able to organize the points to consider when applying them to Japan.
