In Japan's new towns, many public rental housing complexes are needed to regenerate. This study aims to clarify what role public organizations can play in the project emergence of regeneration that utilize the stock, using “The Chayamadai housing complex regeneration” as a case study.
In this study, we surveyed the actual status of project emergence and the relationship between plans, measures, and support by public organizations and projects.
As a result, we reached the following conclusions. (1)There were five roles: creating project opportunities, human, material, financial, and informational roles. (2) Public rental housing owners provided places and rent exemptions, etc.; (3) Municipalities provided agency coordination support, etc.; (4) All public organizations provided direction in planning, implementation of measures, logistical support,matching opportunities, etc.
