[100] A Study of the Actual Condition of Temporary Use of Unused Spaces by the City of Glasgow Stalled Spaces Program

This study was conducted on Stalled Spaces Program, the temporary use initiative for unused spaces in Glasgow, Scotland, to clarify the post-use development of the temporary use. The study revealed the reality of unused land in the city being used as a center of interaction for the local community. Focusing on post-use trends, 1)it became clear that 80% of active community activities continued their temporary use, 2)One activity was relocated to neighboring sites after the end of the program due to the construction, 3)some activities were initiated on other sites while the program was in progress. From this, it can be seen that the temporary use of unused spaces in Glasgow had a role in increasing community empowerment and stimulating local activities at a time when the future is uncertain.
