[105] The Actual Role of Osaka Prefectural Housing Corporation in the Chayamadai Housing Complex Renovation Project

This study clarified the role of the Osaka Prefectural Housing Corporation in the renovation of the Chayamadai Housing Complex in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, where multiple projects with diverse themes have been initiated and are in progress, through interviews with the operators of the projects that involve hardware development and a literature review. It became clear that the role of the corporation can be categorized into four functions: "community base management," "coordination," "incubation support," and "housing supply. The results of this case study also revealed that 1) the model project was promoted through appropriate investment in the initial phase. Further, it became clear that 2) the need for staff to organically link projects with different themes, and 3) the importance of the ability to implement concrete projects.
