[117] Study on the layout of infiltration ponds reducing damage from inland water inundation
- Case study on the middle and lower courses of the Teshiro River basin in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture
Keywords: Inland water inundation, Infiltration pond, Green infrastructure, InfoWorks ICM, Numerical simulation
This study assessed effective layouts of the infiltration ponds to reduce damage from inland water inundation in the Teshiro River basin in Fukuyama City. In this study, twelve layout models of the infiltration pond were designed and twenty-six flood simulations using these models and present condition without infiltration pond as input were executed. Half of them were present calculation using data of the July 2018 heavy rainfall event as input, others were future calculation using virtual rainfall data corresponding to 100-year probability and introducing some countermeasures planned by local government as input. As results, infiltration ponds have some effects on reducing inland water inundation and some relationships between effective layout and inundation characteristics and urban conditions for each area.
