The introduction of paddy field dams, as a flood control measure, have attracted attention in recent years. Although the introduction of paddy field dams is inexpensive and easy, converting all paddy fields into dams in watersheds is difficult. Therefore, to promote the introduction of paddy field dams, it is necessary to quantitatively understand the areas where such introduction is effective in controlling flooding. This study was conducted to understand these issues in the Kurose River watershed. Although the effect was significant near the Kurose River in the upper reaches, an increase in flooding depth was also observed.
