[141] A study on the impression evaluation of streetscape with spatial change by low part of Midosuji Avenue

In this study, we analyzed the relationship between landscape elements and landscape impression evaluation of the low-rise roadside area, which consists of low-rise buildings along the street, sidewalks, and road occupancies such as retention facilities. We clarified the characteristics of the landscape formed by the low-rise roadside area. Using the results of the landscape impression evaluation, Quantification Theory I revealed that the number of consecutive buildings, sidewalk shape, sidewalk width, and setback distance had an exceptionally high impact on the landscape impression evaluation. In addition, a cluster analysis of the street landscape of Midosuji Avenue was conducted to classify it into five patterns and clarify the distribution of these patterns. In addition, it was shown that the installation of a low-rise retention facility is expected to be a method of creating liveliness in the streetscape.
