Welcome to ATPC2022
 
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 13th International Conference on Asian Thermophysical Properties in Sendai, Japan. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, this conference will be held online except for the Opening Ceremony. There will be a total of 184 oral presentations including 3 plenary lectures, 16 Keynote lectures, and 30 invited lectures, as well as 29 poster presentations. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the large number of online applications. We would like to recommend outstanding papers presented at the conference for submission to the special issues of the International Journal of Thermophysics and High Temperatures-High Pressures.
 
We apologize that the Opening Ceremony will be by invitation only due to capacity constraints. The ceremony will include three plenary talks and the presentation of the ATPC Awards. We would also like to invite you to the International Journal of Thermophysics 2022 Ared Cezairliyan Best Paper Award Ceremony, which we hope many of you will attend online. The Opening Ceremony will be held at the Westin Sendai and will be broadcast via Zoom.
 
Unfortunately, ATPC2022 will be held practically online, and we will miss the opportunity to let researchers from all over the world know what the city of Sendai is all about. However, we will take on the mission and responsibility of a major international conference on thermophysical properties along with those of Europe (ECTP) and the United States (STP), and we will continue our efforts to make a connection with ECTP 2023 (Venice) next year.
 
Finally, I would like to thank the International Organizing Committee, International Scientific Committee, National Executive Committee, and Local Committee for their invaluable contributions in organizing this conference.
