世話人よりハイライトの紹介:従来よりも貫通能力に優れた新型コアリングシステムにより掘削した南極湖沼堆積物コアとその放射性炭素年代から,湖沼の成立年代すなわち氷床の融解年代を明らかにした発表である.氷河性堆積物に達する長尺の湖沼堆積物の放射性炭素年代と,迷子石の表面露出年代という異なる年代測定手法を比較し,氷床融解過程を明らかにした.南極湖沼堆積物がもつ古環境アーカイブ試料としての潜在価値を明白にした重要な成果である.※ハイライトとは
